Winter and Summer Schools

Sammers and Winters SchoolsSPbPU on the basis of Institute of Energy and Transport Systems is glad to present Winter and Summer activities for students interested in the energy sector.

2 or 3-week programs hold in January/February and July/August aimed to raise student’s level of knowledge in the definite subject.

Generally, course consists of block of modules from different lectures and suitable for professionals and people with the basic understanding of topic.

All courses include company visits, creative workshops, practical and oral tasks and provide fascinating cultural program full of recreational trips.

After successful completion of the course participants are awarded by Certificates with credits, which can be recalculated and accepted at the home-university.

SPbPU Winter and Summer Schools are activities with casual and relaxing atmosphere in a circle of like-minded people and professors from different countries with diverse experience, yet still maintain a scholastic approach, as well as acceptance of a wide multiplicity of opinions.

Summer School – 2016 “Turbomachinery”

Summer School – 2016 “Turbomachinery”Period: July, 25 – August, 12 2016

Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University on behalf of the Institute of Energy and Transport Systems presents its new Summer School in Turbomachinery.

During the Summer School in Turbomachinery students with the help of internationally recognized professors will study theoretical and practical issues of steam, gas and micro-turbine’s life-cycle.

The course is practically oriented and consists of lectures, practical exercises, group work and technical games.

Advantages of the Summer School:

  • Combination of Finnish, Italian and Russian approaches to turbomachinery industry;
  • Cultural activities and company visits inside the program;
  • Invited specialists from Industry;

Income knowledge required:

  • basic knowledge in thermodynamics, steam and gas turbines.

All studies are developed according to the European requirements and can be recognized as a period abroad. Upon successful completion of the course students are awarded with 5 ECTS credits.

The School is opened for Russian and foreign students with specialized background in Turbomachinery or Mechanical Engineering.

Summer School – 2016 “Nuclear Engineering”

Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University on behalf of the Institute of Energy and Transport System presents a continuation of the Polytechnic Winter School in Nuclear Engineering, its new Summer School in Nuclear Engineering.

The School provides the opportunity to attend intensive academic program, which is composed of different lectures in nuclear engineering with experience from professors and experts from the Russian Federation and European countries, with different opinions and approach.

All studies are developed according to the European requirements and can be recognized as a period abroad.

Upon successful completion of the course students are awarded with 5 ECTS credits.

Target audience

The School is opened for Russian and foreign students with specialized background in Nuclear Engineering.
